November 14: get ready and participate in the Holy Communion

The Lord’s Supper (Holy Communion) is an extremely special ceremony that was designed by the Lord Jesus himself. It celebrates a covenant, as in a marriage, between creature and The Creator.

The Bible teaches us that all mankind was doomed to eternal perdition because of sin, but the Lord Jesus paid a high price with his own life to grant us the chance not to succumb to this sad end. For this, He needed to shed his blood, represented by the cup of grape juice, after suffering on a cross, where the bread symbolizes his body, which was sacrificed.

The author of the biblical book of Hebrews shows that the Lord Jesus’ prayer about this fact when he came to this world:

Therefore, when He came into the world, He said:

“Sacrifice and offering You did not desire,But a body You have prepared for Me.
In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sinYou had no pleasure. Then I said, ‘Behold, I have come—
In the volume of the book it is written of Me—To do Your will, O God.’ ”

(Hebrews 10:5-7)

This is why the apostle Paul, led by the Holy Spirit, instructs us: “For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death till He comes.” 1 Corinthians 11:26

The Sunday of the ‘Come and Supper’
