During the message, they highlighted that fasting is for people to get closer to God and understand that only He can solve their problem and fill their soul.
“Fasting is a cry, a cry of despair of the soul, which makes the Most High hear and respond immediately”, said the Bishop.
Therefore, a fast done with sincerity will always be answered by God. “When a person comes into God’s presence broken, hurt, humiliated and at rock bottom, he has God’s attention,” he said.
What the Word of God says:
“The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit,
A broken and a contrite heart—
These, O God, You will not despise.” Psalms 51.17

“If you want to do the fasting and prayer that pleases God, find a quiet place. Jesus said that when you go to pray, close the door and in secret He will reward you”, advised the Bishop.
“The fast is like an offering, as was the offering of Abel; as soon as he offered his offering of the firstfruits of the flock, God reacted immediately,” he explained.
“The Word of God is powerful, it gave life and created the world. There is life when you hear the Word of God”, said Ester.
