The worst lie is the half truth

The worst lie is not the hairy, gaping or scandalous lie. The worst lie is the half truth, that is, the one that comes dressed as truth. Like those people who judge a book by its cover, many end up embracing the half-truth as the whole truth and then taking home a very poisonous lie.

Due to their nature, human beings always want to hear what pleases them and what will confirm what they already think. For example: if you are a Christian and seek to hear what pleases you, the devil will soon bring a tailor-made preacher to say exactly what you want to hear.

Human beings don’t want to be confronted, they don’t want to change, they don’t want someone to touch what’s theirs and God does exactly that: He moves us. He changes everything within us, challenges us, points out what is wrong and calls us to change. But whoever wants to read the Word of God only in the parts he pleases is not being Christian, but he is actually creating a religion for himself.

If you want to find a preacher who tells you “you don’t have to tithe,” you will. If you want to find a preacher who will tell you “if you are unhappy in your marriage, get a divorce and marry someone else”, you will find that too. He will deceive you and, when you wake up, it will be too late, because you will already be with the father of half-truths: Satan.

The Word of God says in 2 Timothy 4:3: “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers, and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables” . In other words, there will come a time when people will no longer want to hear what is good, correct, healthy and in accordance with the Word of God, they will have itching ears to hear what pleases them, there will be many “doctors ” who will meet their desires and tell them what they want to hear. I believe we have reached this time, when people turn away from truths and turn to fables.

So be very careful because a half truth is a half lie. In reality, it ends up being a complete lie, which is even worse, because you will defend it as if it were the truth. You will follow it to it’s death and you will only discover it was a lie when it is too late.
