THE MISSION

In the Old Testament many prophets announced the coming of a Messiah

Messiah, in Hebrew, Is Christ, in Greek, means Anointed, both terms have the same meaning.

What is an anointed one?

Someone anointed is someone chosen by God for a special mission. This chosen one was consecrated by God to carry out this mission, hence the Lord Jesus was called Christ or Messiah (anointed).

What was the mission of

The Lord Jesus?

To be our Savior

That was the mission of the Lord Jesus!
Only someone without sin, without imperfections could sacrifice himself taking the place of the sinners to give them salvation.

Therefore, Jesus is the Savior of those who believe in Him.

“For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.”

(Luke 2.11)

To be our lord

When Peter identifies the Lord Jesus as “the Son of the living God,” he is pointing to the divinity and dominion of Christ over all things.

The word “Lord” in the Greek language means “owner”.
Several of the apostles referred to Jesus as “the Lord,” that is, the Owner of all things, which included their lives and faith.

That is why they called themselves His servants:

“Paul, a bondservant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated to the gospel of God

(Romans 1. 1)

To accurately describing who the Lord Jesus Christ is would fill many, many books, if we could try to describe exactly.

But even so, we leave some references for you to understand who He is, and should try to learn more about our Savior:

King of kings (Revelation 17. 14)
Jesus is Authority (Matthew 28. 18)

Jesus is  the Just Judge (2 Timothy 4. 1)
Jesus is the Prince of peace (Isaiah 9. 6)

Jesus is God! (Acts 20. 28)

“And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.”

Mark 16:15

Today this is the mission of the Universal Church

To bring the Lord Jesus and His Word to all humanity!
