What is happening:

Trump was speaking to the public when the sounds of gunshots echoed through the venue. When hit, the candidate and former president ducked and was protected by security guards. Two people died at the scene. The person allegedly responsible for the shooting was killed by security. Likewise, a 50-year-old man, chief of the volunteer firefighters, died after being hit by one of the suspect’s shots. Trump was treated for medical emergency and reports are that he is fine.

On the social network Truth Social, created by one of his companies, Trump wrote:

It is worth remembering that the campaign for the US presidency has already officially started and the election date is scheduled for November 5th this year.
