Faith of the heart or faith of reason: What has been your faith?

Do not found your faith in the heart, that is, do not make decisions based on emotional faith. If you do, you will be frustrated, deluded, deceived into thinking that the Lord Jesus has failed you. Jesus said, “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord!’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven…” (Matthew 7.21). In this passage, He referred to those people who believe with their hearts, who have natural, sentimental and emotional faith. Such people will not enter the Kingdom of Heaven.

When God says, “Remember now your Creator in the days of your youth, Before the difficult days come, And the years draw near when you say, “I have no pleasure in them” (Ecclesiastes 12:1), He is speaking from memory (thinking). At school, for example, do you study using your heart or your head? Do you use your feelings or do you use your thinking?

Intelligent faith is based on the Holy Scriptures and does not let the person take action based on emotion. But the devil, knowing what the person feels, brings facilities so that he can go his way and fall. Those who are servants, in fact and in truth, think and obey the Word of God and those who are not true servants feel and cannot bear to wait for the fulfilment of His Promises.

The person’s heart is so dirty, so deceitful and so perverse that God even promises him a new heart, because that one will only lead him to eternal death. The person who lives on the basis of the faith of the heart goes down the path of hell, while the person who goes by the intelligent faith thinks, evaluates and makes the decision rationally, because the Salvation of the soul depends on the decision of the head, on the spirit that God gave to us. That’s why everyone needs the Holy Spirit: because He guides our spirit, our head, our intelligence, our intellect.

God wants you to use your head, and if you use it strictly according to His Word, you’ll breakthrough. It only depends on you.
