Anger: How do you deal with it?

In a world filled with daily injustices, it’s no surprise that anger arises frequently. However, the real challenge lies in how we respond to this emotion, as many individuals have become victims of their anger by reacting in harmful ways.

When faced with anger, there are two reactions you can have. Negative responses include swearing, physical aggression, and engaging in fights. On the other hand, you can contemplate how to prevent a similar issue in the future, engage in constructive conversations with those involved, and seek opportunities for improvement.

If you use anger in the right way you can grow, change your marriage, your financial life – everything. However, generally, people do not know how to use anger to their advantage and end up making wrong choices which leads to their destruction.

The word of God says:

“Be angry, and do not sin: do not let the sun go down on your wrath, nor give place to the devil.” (Ephesians 4:26-27)

The Divine advice for us is not to allow anger to make us sin nor to let it “ferment” inside us for a long time.

If the anger lasts until the next day, it starts to become resentment. As you continue to feed that feeling, remembering everything that was done to you, this hurt begins to eat you up inside. This is to give way to the devil.

The solution to anger and hurt is forgiveness.

Your heart may refuse to forgive, but you can give it an order: ‘you will forgive!’. Do not allow a challenge to become a sin for you.

Reflect, evaluate yourself and clean your heart daily. This makes you truly free.
